Matt has a great teaching style and is continually adding new tutorials to the channel to the latest songs and with the latest dance steps and moves coming out of LA. Operation Tap was founded by Anthony Morigerato, Ayodele Casel, and Mike Minery. They offer paid courses in tap dance through their website, but also offer small tap technique lessons on their Youtube channel for free.
OUR REVIEW
There is not a heap of content on the channel, but a lot was currently being posted and so hopefully it becomes a valuable free resource. I didn’t see a lot of beginner tutorials on the channel as they weren’t labeled as such but found as I watched each video that they were aimed at various levels and that you just had to go through them to find what suited you and your technique level best.
Styles: Tap Dance
Best for: all levels of dancers
Growing Library of Content (More classes available through their paid program)

A fun free option is to go to the Just Dance YouTube channel and copy and follow along without the gaming aspect.

Beginner Dance Tutorials
GENERAL INFO
Carrie is a mom and wife who teaches weekly beginner dance classes to adults. She began her Youtube channel because she felt so many people were missing out on the joy of learning to dance because free slow beginner breakdowns of choreography were not available. She tackles a variety of styles in her videos so there is something for nearly everyone.
OUR REVIEW
Carrie is really easy to watch and listen to. Her tutorials are without music and then she links to a video where she performs the dance with the music for you to practice with. I really liked that she gives optional moves to challenge those who are a bit more than a beginner and shows when these are occurring in the choreography with an overlay video.
Styles: Tap Dance, Hip Hop, Line Dances, Jazz Dance
Best for: Beginners
A small library of videos which is consistently growing.
Mandy Jiroux

Mandy Jiroux is a dancer and choreographer as well as artist who has created a large library of commercial dance tutorials to the latest and most popular songs. She also has fitness workouts on the channel and promotes her own original music on the channel.
OUR REVIEW
Mandy’s choreography is exciting to watch and learn, but she does teach at a fast pace, but you can always pause and rewind when you need to. Alot of her choreography is for the older teen or adult but there are some routines in the mix that are suitable for tweens and younger teens.
Styles: Commercial Dance

Space TV has over 200 videos on the channel. Well known and esteemed dance instructor Krista Millar who has more than 25 years of experience uses the channel to freely give tips and tutorials on core strength, technique, leaps, turns, kicks, tricks and more.
OUR REVIEW
There is a wealth of knowledge on this channel, I just wish someone would go in and organize it all into themed playlists to make it all easier to watch! There are a lot of videos from 4 or 5 years ago, but you can see Krista and her daughter Autumn are making an effort to put more and more content on the channel when they are able to do so.
Styles: Jazz, Lyrical, Funk, Hip Hop and more
Best for: Beginner to Advanced
Over 200 Videos to watch
Auti Kamal
GENERAL INFO
Auti Kamal is passionate about all things dance. She posts a dance vlog every Wednesday and choreography video performed by her own dance company at the end of every month. Her videos are mainly about ballet, but she also has a few jazz and lyrical/contemporary videos as well.
OUR REVIEW
Auti does alot of explaining during her tutorials, and it is not exactly like a flowing lesson, but she is making sure that you understand how to do each exercise correctly. I would kind of really love it if she did a second video where you just went through each exercise with music just like you might in an actual class without the pauses and explanations. She is very sweet and extremely knowledgable about all things dance and overall a great teacher.
Styles: Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary
Best for: Beginner to Advanced
Large growing library of videos.
The Ballet Coach
GENERAL INFO
Sarah De Feu was a professional dancer with the English National Ballet, but decided to change her path and follow her passion and a career in teaching. Her channel provides lessons not just for teens and adults but children and preschoolers as well.
OUR REVIEW
These classes are great, Sarah has been filming them live in her living room and her set up makes the lessons really easy to view and follow. Because of her experience and teaching credentials if you can’t get to class doing one of these videos is probably the best next thing!
Styles: Classical Ballet
Best for: Go to her channel and choose as she has different videos for different levels and ages.
Growing library of videos.
Lazy Ballerina Tips
GENERAL INFO
Lazy Ballerina Tips is a Youtube channel created by dancer Alessia and her visual storyteller husband Iacopo. This channel has been around for a long time and is a treasure trove of resources for any dancer who can not make it into the classroom!
OUR REVIEW
I really like Alessia’s classes as they have a focus such as a class to help your turnout or strengthen your legs and I would say that they are a great compliment on top of classes that you are actually attending as well as for those times that you can’t make it into the studio.
Styles: Classical Ballet and Ballet Workouts
Best for: Intermediate to Advanced ballet dancers.
Large library of videos.

Maria Khoreva is a soloist with the Mariinsky Theatre and graduated from the Vaganova Ballet School in 2018. She was a rhythmic gymnast turned ballerina and she posts ballet workouts and lessons on her channel.

Maria has a variety of classes on her channel and it is interesting to see how she trains. There are a fair few different things on this channel, from workouts to ballet classes and I like getting a birds eye view into how she trains.
Styles: Classical Ballet and Ballet Workouts
Best for: Advanced – but she has some beginner classes available.
